- John Johnson → Celebrate Recovery: This is borrowed from someone else, but with permission to repost it. While it is not my story, it does seem to fit pretty close my own addictions. The process that this young man found to begin to overcome his addiction and heal is the same process that we find it Celebrate Recovery.
  Being able to find others who share in addictions, who are both seeking to get out of that kind of lifestyle, is very important. I can’t tell you how many times I have gone to my accountability partner or my sponsor, and confessed to them that I was feeling weak, and needing support. They are always there to help me thru the tough times, and those relapse moments. They pick me up when I need it, and they help me to get back on the road to recovery.

  Psalm 139:23-24 says, "Search me, O God, and know my heart; test my thoughts. Point out anything in me that makes you sad, and lead me along the path of everlasting life" (TLB). [NIV uses "see if there is any offensive way in me," since our sin is offensive to a holy God.]
  Confession of sin is necessary for fellowship with God and revival among Gods people. The word "confess" has as its root meaning, "to say the same as." Confession, then, is agreeing with God about your sin. [Forgiveness depends on confession; we need to have the mind of Christ to be unified with Him.]
